About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how MisteSync (the "App") collects, uses, and shares personal information when merchants install or use the App in connection with their Shopify-powered stores. The App provides data synchronization, backup, and integration tools to help merchants keep product, order, and customer data in sync across services.

Personal Information the App Collects

When you install MisteSync, we automatically access certain information from your Shopify account via the Shopify API. Examples include:

• Store information: store name, store URL, currency, time zone
• Orders & customers: order IDs, customer names, email addresses, purchase details (as permitted by Shopify)
• Products: product titles, SKUs, inventory levels, prices
• Account metadata: Shopify domain, plan type, and app access scopes

Additionally, MisteSync may collect the following once the App is installed:

• Merchant data: name, email, store address, phone number, billing information (if applicable)
• Usage data: feature usage, timestamps, device and browser information for support and analytics
• Customer metadata: anonymized analytics about customer activity used to provide synchronization features

We collect information directly from individuals, through your Shopify account, and via technologies such as cookies, log files, web beacons, tags, and pixels.

How We Use Your Personal Information

We use collected information to provide and operate the Service. Typical uses include:

• Delivering synchronization and integration features between services
• Communicating with merchants about the App and support requests
• Troubleshooting, maintenance, and performance improvements
• Generating anonymized analytics to improve the App
• Sending optional product announcements and marketing (you may opt out)

We do not sell personal information.

Sharing Your Personal Information

MisteSync shares personal data only with:

• Shopify, Inc. — to enable API-based synchronization
• Cloud hosting providers (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud) — for secure storage and processing
• Analytics & monitoring tools — to track app performance in an anonymized way
• Payment processors — if billing is required for subscriptions

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your Shopify store remains connected to MisteSync. If you request deletion or disconnect the App, we will securely purge stored data within 30 days, unless otherwise required by law.

We may update this policy periodically to reflect changes to our practices or legal requirements. We will post the updated policy within the App and on our website; the "Last updated" date at the top will be revised accordingly.
